From 1995 to 2000 I, Cynthia Hamberg, read English Language and Literature at Utrecht University. During the last two years of my studies, I had a double major: English Literature and Information Science.

This web site was created in 1999 as part of my MA thesis on the functionality of literary web sites. In my essay, I discussed the importance and relevance of web sites dealing with authors, literary works and genres. To gain some insight into the already existing literary web sites, I compared two web sites on the basis of criteria dealing with browser compatibility, navigation and content. The outcome was that the average literary web site leaves a lot to be desired. If you are interested in reading my thesis, please let me know through e-mail.
